Albert Tuttle, an insurance salesman, visits the Cyrus J. Rutherford estate to sell life insurance to the deceased millionaire. The heirs gather at the mansion for the reading of the will, but it's delayed until Rutherford is properly entombed. As Tuttle becomes embroiled in the mystery, he encounters a niece, secret passages, a missing body, and murder.
