In this gritty drama, Sally Mae's boyfriend Tarzan is kicked out of high school for selling marijuana, leading her to question her middle-class upbringing. She joins him in his East Village "crash pad," where he runs a lucrative scam, convincing uptown visitors to pay for the supposed rehabilitation of young women involved in wild parties. As the racket grows, other operators join in, but Sally Mae eventually discovers the truth and seeks a new life with a businessman she met at one of the parties.
