A deaf runaway named Jenny arrives in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district to search for her brother, a mysterious sculptor known as The Seeker. She becomes friends with a psychedelic band called Mumblin' Jim, whose members hide her from the authorities in their crowded Victorian crash pad.
