Five teenagers, including Darrin, his girlfriend Chloe, his best friend Stick, the group clown Sanj, and Darrin's kid brother Justin, sneak away to a bankrupt amusement park, Wonder World, to escape their troubles. After getting permission from their group home counselor's car, they indulge in booze, drugs, and revelry on the silent rides, searching for Ben, a notorious security guard. As the day progresses, the rides come to life, but the fantasy offers little solace for those struggling with inner demons.
