Internationally renowned graffiti artist Banksy anonymously tagged San Francisco in April 2010, unwittingly triggering a series of events. One of his rats was taken from a wall, museums passed up a free Banksy street art, and a New York gallerist, who has built a career removing Banksy street works globally, went to great lengths to acquire the coveted rat.
