In ancient Rome, Daffy Duck and Speedy Gonzales are transported back in time and captured as entertainment for Emperor Nero. After Speedy feeds chili peppers to a lion, they're chased by guards and accidentally land on Nero, breaking his fiddle. The Emperor becomes enraged and pursues them. Meanwhile, the time machine's inventor sets it in reverse, bringing Daffy, Speedy, and Nero back to the present. Nero joins Speedy's musical band as a fiddler.
