Gavin, the artistic son of a Scottish-Italian ice cream dynasty, abandons his Glasgow roots to make a name for himself in London's children's book illustration scene. Eight years later, he's frustrated and broke, until his uncle Sal appears with an unexpected offer. Gavin's father has sold the family business, and to claim his share of the proceeds, Gavin must return home for his father's birthday party. Despite his initial reluctance, Gavin sets off north and picks up a mysterious hitchhiker, embarking on a challenging yet ultimately fulfilling journey.
