Freddie Joyzelle, a young woman struggling with unemployment, homelessness, and hunger, is rescued by Mike Fall and taken in by his musician friends, The Four Seasons, consisting of Joe Spring, Happy Winter, and Pete Summer. As the group's violinist, Freddie also helps with cooking and cleaning, and eventually secures a gig at the Little Aregon restaurant. When Prince Nicholaus of Aregon visits and recognizes Freddie, the restaurant gains fame, and the owner, Mr. Keppel, decides to open a larger establishment. However, Mike's jealousy over the attention Freddie receives from the Prince leads him to quit the group just before the grand opening.
