That's Right - You're Wrong

Renowned radio personality Kay Kyser faces a creative challenge as screenwriters strive to adapt his unique persona into a compelling movie script.

In this fictional film, real-life celebrities play themselves in a staged setting. J.D. Forbes, head of Four Star Studios, tries to revive the studio's declining business by adapting a popular radio and live theater program, "The Kollege of Musical Knowledge," hosted by band leader Kay Kyser. When Kyser's band is offered a movie deal, they're excited to work in Hollywood, but Kyser is initially hesitant, citing his grandmother's advice to stay in his own backyard. Despite this, the band agrees to make the move. Upon arrival, associate producer Stacey Delmore discovers that the screenplay writers have prepared a script featuring Kay Kyser as a glamorous lover in an exotic European setting. Delmore recognizes the need for a rewrite and a series of fictional events unfold.
