On the island of Carlotta, a federal agent named Rigby is hot on the trail of stolen aircraft engines, leading him to suspect Hintten and his sultry wife Elizabeth, a cafe singer. As Rigby digs deeper, he's watched by Bealer, a quirky character with sore feet, who tries to buy him off. Meanwhile, Rigby and Elizabeth develop a romantic connection, complicating the case as the gang realizes there are many forms of bribery at play.
