In Cuba, a businessman's loan is conditional on his daughter marrying a man he chooses. The daughter falls in love with someone else and tries to elope, but accidentally gets injured. An American professor finds her and takes her to safety, but she falls in love with him. The daughter and her sister switch identities, causing chaos and misunderstandings. The professor, unaware of the switch, falls for the sister who is impersonating the daughter. The sisters' plan eventually unravels, and the businessman's daughter is able to marry her true love.
