King Louis XIV is unaware of his twin brother Philippe until Philippe is revealed to him. Instead of accepting Philippe as his twin, the King has Philippe imprisoned in the Bastille. The King then attempts to boost his popularity by staging his own assassination, with Philippe dressed as the King. However, Philippe escapes and is mistaken for the real King, leading to chaos and confusion.
