A bookie, still reeling from a past rejection, concocts a scheme for revenge by pretending to be a talent agent, touting a dancer as his most prized discovery.

In this captivating film, a bookie turned horse agent seeks revenge against a beautiful dance hall girl who led him on and took his money. He concocts a plan to deceive her, posing as a talent agent and promising to make her a stage star. To further his scheme, he hires a struggling Gilbert & Sullivan troupe to perform The Mikado, convincing her of his authenticity. However, his plan backfires as the girl falls in love with him, as does the entire troupe, who have found new hope with the promised performance.
