Clelia, a fashion enthusiast from Rome, establishes a new salon in Turin, only to find herself entangled in a complex web of relationships among her hotel neighbors. She becomes close to Rosetta, a troubled woman who's struggling with her own demons, and her wealthy friends Momina, Nene, and Mariella. As Clelia navigates her new surroundings, she finds herself drawn to Carlo, an architect's assistant from a working-class background, despite the disapproval of the other women. Meanwhile, Momina, who's secretly involved with Cesare, the architect of Clelia's salon, encourages Rosetta to pursue a romantic interest in Nene's fiancé, Lorenzo, a painter.
