The Hawaiians background

The Hawaiians

Captain Whip establishes a thriving plantation in Hawaii, teaming up with a Chinese couple to cultivate the land and build a successful agricultural venture.

Two kindred souls with ambition, Captain Whip Hoxworth and Nyuk Tsin, form an unlikely connection when he discovers her being smuggled on his ship, The Carthaginian. Nyuk Tsin, kidnapped to be sold to a brothel, is spared when Mun Ki claims she's his wife, and Hoxworth agrees to let them work as domestic servants in his household. Wu Chow's Auntie, as Nyuk Tsin becomes known, builds a family business in Honolulu with her five sons, named after continents, while Hoxworth establishes a pineapple empire using Japanese laborers.
