A struggling entrepreneur, Dwight Dawson, launches a contest to find the biggest failure in the US, hoping to boost his struggling success school. The winner, Tad Page, is initially drawn to Dawson's offer, but soon realizes he's happier with his carefree lifestyle. As Tad becomes a threat to Dawson's business, he tries to win him over by exploiting his crush on Claire Harris, who is secretly engaged to Dawson.
