A socially-troubled young woman, Carrie, tries to repair her strained relationship with her mother after her grandfather's passing in a nursing home. She's drawn to William, an elderly man in a neighboring room, and takes a part-time job at the nursing home to keep an eye on him. As they bond, William shares fantastical stories from his past, claiming to be immortal and cursed to never die, only grow old and sick. But before he can finish his final tale, William vanishes, and Carrie becomes the prime suspect in his mysterious disappearance.
