Prince Prospero witnesses the devastation of the Red Death plague in a Catania village, prompting him to seek revenge against the villagers, Gino and Ludovico, after they refuse his demands. He brings them to his castle, intending to corrupt Gino's wife, Francesca, but instead, a mysterious red-hooded guest crashes his masquerade ball, leading Prospero to believe Satan has joined the party.
