Identical twins June and Jennifer Gibbons, raised in a small Welsh town, became notorious as "the silent twins" for their inability to communicate with anyone except each other. Developing their own language, they would become catatonic when separated. The story follows the twins as they face a choice: to survive and potentially be separated at Broadmoor psychiatric hospital, or to die together.
