In October 1944, a group of Spanish rebels, known as the maquis, plot to overthrow the fascist dictator Franco's government. A botched explosion leads to the destruction of a bridge and the deaths of most of the commando team, leaving only three survivors. The military captures one of them, Vicente, and begins to hunt down the others. Anselmo, the third survivor, must use his wits and evade capture while trying to escape with the help of Vicente's wife, Rosa. However, the situation becomes even more dire when a ruthless Russian sniper, Darya, is sent to kill Anselmo.
