The Song of Names background

The Song of Names

A renowned violinist's sudden disappearance on the eve of his debut concert sends his childhood friend on a treacherous quest across Europe to unravel the mystery surrounding his vanishing act.

Two childhood friends, Dovidl Rapoport and Martin Simmonds, grew up together despite a rocky start. Dovidl, a violin prodigy, was taken in by Martin's family in London in 1939. The friends' relationship was tested when Dovidl failed to show up for a major concert in 1951, causing financial ruin for Martin's family and leading to his father's death. Years later, in 1986, Martin, now working in the music industry, sets out to find Dovidl, hoping to resolve unfinished business and ensure his friend's well-being.
