Michael, a writer, is struggling to focus on his work at his Australian beach home due to the noise from his noisy neighbors, a group of surfers. One of the surfers, C.K., decides to stay behind and catch some waves. Michael is drawn to C.K.'s surfing skills and watches him from afar. Later, C.K. appears at Michael's house, making himself at home, and Michael begins to uncover more about himself and his past through their unexpected encounter.
