In a textile mill, Robert Evans warns his boss Henry Chapple about the need for repairs to prevent accidents, but Chapple refuses. Tragedy strikes when Evans' son Danny is killed in an accident. Consumed by grief, Evans rescues Chapple's infant son from a car accident and passes him off as his own adopted son. Despite this, Chapple befriends Evans and eventually learns about the child's true identity, leading Evans to confess and return the baby to his rightful parents.
