Three bumbling stagehands, also minor actors, incur the wrath of their producer by causing chaos in a grand play. As southern gentlemen in the play, they and the rest of the cast unexpectedly break into a feather-filled coughing fit during a dramatic scene, which the critic mistakenly interprets as a brilliant satire, ultimately saving the boys' reputation.
