Matt Blaine and his son Jim, along with their associates, rob John Dawson's bank in a tense heist, despite Jim's reservations. However, their partners betray them, and the Blaines flee by canoe. Pursued by authorities, they cross paths with Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman Bob McDonald, who joins forces with them to fend off their pursuers, leaving all three men gravely injured. With the help of McDonald's loyal dog Chinook, they manage to escape, but Matt ultimately succumbs to his wounds. McDonald then sets out to uncover the truth, revealing Dawson as the true mastermind behind the robbery.
