George Newman, a daydreamer with a vivid imagination, is hired to manage a struggling TV station, Channel 62. Despite initial doubts, George's unconventional programming, including "Stanley Spadowski's Clubhouse" and "Raul's Wild Kingdom", boosts ratings. However, a rival mogul, R.J. Fletcher, becomes jealous and tries to buy the station to shut it down.
