Tom sets out to clear his father's name, tracking down the real killer to a lawless town where outsiders are forbidden. To gain entry, Tom disguises himself as an outlaw fleeing the law, accompanied by his partner Banty, who pretends to be the pursuing sheriff. They successfully infiltrate the gang, but their ruse is compromised when Banty is caught and sentenced to death.
