Zebrahead

The film explores the complexities of interracial friendship and the power of shared cultural experiences, as a young white music lover forges a strong connection with a black classmate.

In this Romeo and Juliet-inspired tale set in Detroit, Michigan, two teenagers from different racial backgrounds, Zack and Dee, form a strong bond despite societal expectations. When Zack starts dating Dee's cousin Nikki, their friends from both sides struggle to understand their relationships, fueled by racial stereotypes and prejudices. As tensions escalate, a local gang member named Nut becomes jealous of Zack's relationship with Nikki, leading to a violent confrontation that exposes the deep-seated racial divisions in their communities.
