Deputy Head of Science Mr. Church, a 15-year veteran of Greybridge School, faces an unexpected end to his tenure after a shocking experiment goes awry. The sudden arrival of a new French teacher sets off a chain of events that turns everything upside down.

A chemistry teacher, Keith, becomes smitten with the new French teacher, Sarah, who is admired by both students and staff for her inspirational teaching and beauty. However, Trevor, the arrogant sports teacher, also sets his sights on her. Amidst the romantic tensions, the school's staff face their own struggles, including a headteacher, a music teacher with a secret passion for singing, a geography teacher on the brink of a nervous breakdown, and an elderly head of science.
