A young smuggler, Arnulfo Rubio, is caught by a veteran ATF agent, Hank Harris, while trying to cross the Mexican border. However, instead of turning Rubio over, Harris becomes a prisoner. Rubio decides to take Harris back to Mexico to turn him over to the cartel, and the two former adversaries must now work together to survive a dangerous journey.
