A Generation background

A Generation

A tender tale of self-discovery emerges against the backdrop of war, as Polish youth confront the complexities of love, identity, and resilience during Germany's occupation.

In 1942, during Germany's occupation of Poland, a young boy named Stach lives with his mother in a shanty town outside Warsaw. He begins working as an apprentice in a small workshop, where he meets a secret Communist leader and a young political leader in the Organization of Youth Fighters. Stach forms a resistance group with his friends, and they start to support rebellious Jews in the ghetto. However, their mission ends in tragedy when one of his friends is captured and killed by the Germans.
