An American couple's relaxing Mexican getaway descends into chaos when the husband becomes embroiled in a murder investigation, forcing them to confront the dark secrets of their idyllic vacation spot.

Well-known painter and decorated war hero Trevor Stevenson is accused of murdering a cantina waitress on his first night in Acapulco with his wife Stella. Despite her initial defense of him, Stella begins to doubt his innocence when she discovers sketches of the victim made by Trevor on the night of the murder, and her husband's bouts of amnesia only add to her uncertainty.
