A woman, Helga Pato, meets a psychiatrist, Ángel Sanagustín, on a train and he shares a story about a patient, Martín Urales, who was sent to fight in the Kosovo War. The story takes a dark turn as Martín's doctor, Linares, makes a deal to create a child hospital, but at a terrible cost.
