The story begins with the birth of Raja Nandini, a baby girl in a feudal society where her three brothers raise her as their own child. An astrologer predicts that Nandini's marriage will be based on her choice, which angers her brothers. They restrict her freedom and raise her within the confines of the house. Rama, a naive and gullible simpleton, grows up to be a skilled singer and entertainer. He becomes Nandini's bodyguard and butler, and they develop an emotional bond. Nandini realizes she is in love with Rama and decides to take matters into her own hands.
