Animated Hero Classics

In 16th century Pisa, a bold professor challenges traditional teachings by positing that the sun is the hub of the universe, risking heresy and persecution in the academic community.

In 1589, Pisa, Italy, Galileo, a professor, challenges Aristotle's ideas in his classroom, risking heresy. Despite the danger, Galileo continues to promote the sun-centered universe theory, using his improved spyglass to prove his point. With his telescope, he discovers Jupiter's moons, providing evidence against the Earth-centric view. Clavius convinces Galileo to sign a document agreeing not to contradict Aristotle, allowing him to share his theories. Pope Urban permits Galileo to write a book, as long as he presents both views fairly. Columbe, jealous of Galileo, forges an addition to the document, stating Galileo will never teach his own theories again. Found guilty of heresy, Galileo is sentenced to house arrest, where he dies, surrounded by his loyal servant Sagredo.
