Believe in Me

A toxic relationship is ravaged by the couple's crippling addiction to the devastating drug, speed.

Medical student Remy, known for his compassionate bedside manner, is a rising star in his internship program. He meets Pamela, a children's book publisher, through her brother, who is also his friend. The couple falls in love and moves to New York City's East Village, but their relationship takes a dark turn when they become addicted to speed and barbiturates. As their addiction worsens, Remy is expelled from medical school and Pamela quits her job. The couple's downward spiral continues as Remy becomes indebted to a local dealer, who introduces him to heroin as a form of revenge.
