After serving in the Army, Chad Gates returns to his idyllic life in Hawaii, surrounded by his surfboard, beach friends, and loving girlfriend. However, his father's insistence that he join the family business at the Great Southern Hawaiian Fruit Company puts a damper on his plans. Chad decides to take a different route, instead opting to work as a tour guide at his girlfriend's agency.
