In the South Bronx, a young person's aspirations are often limited to a life of crime, violence, and racism. However, Tommy, a natural leader and talented artist, dares to dream differently. When Allen, a white boy, moves into the neighborhood with his single mother, he faces relentless harassment until Tommy offers him a chance at friendship. As their bond grows, they are confronted by the harsh realities of the criminal justice system and the corrupt forces that threaten to destroy their lives.
