In a small Nevada town near the California border, a young girl and her grandfather operate a trolley between a train depot and a ghost town. Their ordinary lives are disrupted when three spies arrive, searching for an atomic missile that has gone off course. After the trolley breaks down, Judy and Grandpa stumble upon the crashed missile and unknowingly install its engine, setting off a chain of unexpected events.
