A wagon train is attacked by renegades, killing John Knox and kidnapping his son Asa. Clint and his mother Martha escape and later grow up, with Clint becoming a skilled Pony Express rider. His kidnapped brother, now known as Ace Carter, is raised by outlaws and becomes a rival, holding up a stagecoach that Clint's sweetheart is on.
