Ella Bishop, a 52-year teaching veteran, is nearing retirement and reflects on her life. She always wanted to be a teacher and was thrilled to land a job at her alma mater, Midwestern University, after graduation. However, she never imagined teaching would be her only phase of life. She thinks about the two men she loved and would have married if circumstances hadn't intervened, as well as the man who has always been there for her, albeit unrequitedly. Despite not having biological children, Ella considers the many young people she has mentored, including her niece and great-niece, who have become like family to her.
Cheers for Miss Bishop
