Dr. Eugene and Mrs. Helen Ferguson, a renowned neurosurgeon and his wife, are detained by the military in Latin America after deciding to return to New York early. They soon learn that President Raoul Farrago, the country's tyrannical dictator, has a brain tumor and needs an urgent operation to survive.
