A son's relationship with his mother is tested when they discover a devastating secret: the life insurance policy of his deceased father is intended for his father's mistress, rather than his own family.

After her ex-husband's passing, Sanlian learns he's changed his insurance policy, cutting out their son and leaving a stranger named Jay as the beneficiary. Fuming, she concocts a plan to confront Jay, but he outsmarts her. When her son surprisingly moves in with Jay, Sanlian is compelled to reevaluate her relationships with both of them.
