A group of children stumble upon a mysterious and mischievous sand fairy, known as a Psammead, on a secluded beach at their uncle's estate. The Psammead grants each child one wish per day, but they soon discover that thinking of sensible wishes is more challenging than expected, leading to unintended consequences and unexpected difficulties.
