In the lawless town of Purgatory, a mysterious gunslinger arrives, claiming to be the long-awaited town tamer. However, his true intentions are shrouded in secrecy, as he is aware of having previously killed the man the townspeople believed would take on the role. Despite this, he agrees to their terms, accepting a $500 fee from the widow of another man he murdered. The gunslinger sets his sights on liberating the town from the grasp of its wheelchair-bound criminal overlord, who retaliates by hiring a succession of ruthless killers to take down the newcomer.
