In a dystopian future, citizens are trapped in towering Company structures, forced to build robots for a distant war under strict contracts. Any forbidden relationships, particularly with the androids they create, are brutally punished. When Conor witnesses the vice police arresting his neighbor, he fears he and Dosso, the hacked android he loves, will be next. As they try to escape the tower, the head of the Vice Department, Max, sets a plan in motion that will tear Conor and Dosso apart and introduce him to the secretive Friends of Sophia group.
