In 1960s Cornwall and 1970s Essex, a young boy of mixed race named David spends his days searching for treasure and dreaming of his loved one. After a traumatic attack by his father, David is forced to flee and embarks on a journey to return home to Cornwall, growing up at sea and living a wild life of sex and drugs in Essex. Haunted by visions of a mythical mermaid and stories of shipwreck treasure, David hopes to win back his love with his newfound riches.
