Freddie Frisby's plans to marry Judy Sears are crushed by her father, Bob, who thinks he's not good enough due to his lack of success as an orange picker. However, Freddie's fortunes change when he inherits his uncle's vast collection of magician's equipment. He decides to pursue a career in magic with Judy as his partner, but their rehearsals are interrupted when they're abducted by a group of payroll robbers.
