Three students from different cliques at Montclair High School form an unlikely bond through a series of comedic and dramatic events. Sean, a popular jock, struggles to balance his grades and football career, while Jenny, his girlfriend, gets caught up in a wild lifestyle with her new rock band friends. Meanwhile, Ziggy, a socially awkward nerd, searches for love despite his lack of confidence, and Jason, a tough punk, deals with the aftermath of an abusive home life. When the three students are forced to spend time together in detention, they begin to help each other overcome their personal struggles and discover that they have more in common than they initially thought.
