Patrick, a teenager from a government official's family in Britain, was kidnapped by pirates at 16 and enslaved in Ireland. He spent six years working as a shepherd, starving, and eventually turned to his Christian faith for solace. After escaping, he had a prophetic dream to spread Christianity back to Ireland.
